Mary opted to stay on board today. We had spent time in Casablanca a few years ago and she knew that at least one of the big stops was to the mosque that we had visited before. Our tour was a private one put together by Tara. Paul joined Tara, Claus, Florence and Dirk for the tour.
The ship had problems docking…problems with alignment of the
ship with the fancy docking arrangement at the dock. So. the group was about an hour late leaving
the ship…and the private tour vehicle wasn’t allowed in to the dock area but
they were able to get one of the tour buses to take them to the entrance.
The first stop on the tour was the fort of El Jadida.

From there they stopped at the tourist market.
It was huge and carried and unimaginable variety of goods.
A short stop at Mohammed V Square. It was most notable for the vast number of pigeons in the square.
We also stopped at the Hassan II Mosque. This is one of the largest mosques in the world. It sat on a vast plaza flanked by colonnades.

They got back around 4:00pm and the ship sailed at 5:00. Paul indicated on his return it turns out we had visited all of the sites on our previous visit. Oh well.
We had dinner tonight with Jim and Phyllis and then went to
the show. The entertainer was a Polish
pianist. Very good.
